Synopsis

A story set in south London of a young man who takes over the management of a laundrette. This award winning film tells the story of Omar, a Pakistani boy determined to make good in Thatcher’s Britain. Shady business deals, family politics and the romantic relationship between Omar and his former school friend Johnny form the background to this funny yet honest portrayal of life within the Pakistani community in south London.
