Synopsis

Peter Greenaway’s story of the destruction of innocence. It tells the miracle-story of a beautiful child-saint exploited for money and power by his sister who is convinced that together they can successfully impersonate the Virgin Mary and Child. They excite the jealousy of the Church whose even greater powers of exploitation carry the deceptions to an inevitable end. dubs exist but no m&e survives for this film.
